Canadian Landscape Charter
Guest Speaker: Jean Landry
The purpose of the Charter is to recognize, protect, manage and celebrate Canada’s landscapes. Learn more at http://www.csla-aapc.ca/charter
Are you interested in discussing the Canadian Landscape Charter? Its applicability? Its reach?
Join Jean Landry in discussion during the Canadian Landscape Charter Tour Sessions, in partnership with CSLA component associations and Universities across Canada, to learn about the Charter and participate in an ongoing conversation about the recognition, management, protection, and celebration of Canada’s landscapes.
The third instalment of the Canadian Landscape Portfolio aimed at illustrating the landscapes of our dreams by soliciting images from our members which showed an exceptional intervention in our landscapes. In these times of environmental and social uncertainties, landscape architects can turn to the landscapes of our dreams to express the principles in the Charter.
About Jean Landry
Jean Landry completed a B.A.P. in Landscape Architecture at the Université de Montréal, an MBA at Athabasca University and a short Master’s program at the “Université du Québec” in “Urban Economic Development and Management. He has spent the greatest part of his almost 40 year career as a landscape architect or as a manager, first at the Montreal Botanical Garden and later at the Urban Planning Department. He was directly involved in the planning and execution of Montréal’s first pedestrian-friendly streets, the development of the Blue and Green Networks and the first green roof on a public building. His specialty and main interest was stakeholder participation, highlighting a global vision complemented by strategic thinking that sought to effectively translate ideas into “real places” that could be lived in and savoured by all.
