Architecture49Inc. is seeking a Landscape Architectural Intern or Technologist in our Ottawa office to join our National A49 Landscape architectural team.

A49 is committed to providing suitable safe working environment for our employees. Upon joining our team, you will work from home and will be supported as you work remotely. As we transition back to an office environment, post-Covid, we will work with you to make sure this happens in a way which works for all parties.

This position will be responsible for the following


Assisting in preparation and production of design packages and presentation materials including community engagement, design reports; and specifications, in collaboration with project teams. Working both individually and with multiple project teams in a multi-disciplinary office, with strong organizational and communication skills;
Assisting with contract administration. Performing all other related tasks that will help accomplish the project


Education:  Degree or diploma in landscape architecture or landscape architectural technology from an accredited North American University or technical college.
Experience:  1-2+ years’ experience working as a Landscape Architectural Intern or Technologist for a North American Landscape Architectural consulting firm or Architecture Practice.
Candidates must demonstrate the following:  passion for the natural and built environments, critical thinking, organization, accountability, self-motivation, collaboration, attention to detail, strong written & verbal communication, and altruistic disposition.
Technical Awareness: Proven experience in construction design and construction administration is an asset including k nowledge in technical aspects of landscape architecture (construction detailing, planting, grading and drainage, storm water management, quantity surveying and estimating and construction specifications).
Preference given to candidates with: Proficiency with Revit and AutoCAD.
Developed skills in Rhino, Lumion, Enscape3d,A and SketchUp.
Proficiency with Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
Microsoft Office experience. Written and spoken proficiency in English is required, additionally French would be an asset Current or previous “Reliability” or “Secret” clearance status would be an asset.
