The SALA President, Laureen Snook, was honoured to be invited by his Excellency the Right Honourable David Johnston, Governor General of Canada, to attend the inauguration of the Queen’s Gate at Rideau Hall, where Their Royal Highnesses, The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall, were in attendance. Prince Charles is a Honourary Member of SALA and the CSLA, and Laureen Snook, along with CSLA President, Vincent Asselin and his wife, Malacka Ackoui attended. It was a fantastic evening which highlighted the many different ties that their Royal Highnesses have to organizations and associations across Canada. The sustainability and environmental awareness that Prince Charles has demonstrated and advocated for, aligns with the values and goals of the profession of Landscape Architecture in Saskatchewan and across Canada, and we were pleased to be recognized with this invitation.
